The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode established Gyanodaya, the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation and Publishing, for the development, publication, and selling of case studies and other learning materials.

The Centre also provides opportunities for faculty collaboration with global and national institutions.

About the Workshop

The use of case studies in business and management education strengthens students’ critical thinking, strategic analysis, and decision-making skills.

This second case writing workshop will be conducted in two phases. Phase 1, an in-campus programme on 24 and 25 July 2026, focuses on case writing foundations and teaching note development. Phase 2, scheduled on 26 September 2026 in hybrid mode, focuses on WIP case presentations, analysis, debrief, feedback, refinement support, and open discussions.

Faculty members, doctoral scholars, aspiring PhD candidates and industry professionals interested in developing and publishing high-quality case studies.

Pre-workshop Requirements

Participants are required to attend the session with one or two case ideas that can be developed and written during the workshop.

  • Select an organization and case protagonist.
  • Prepare two to three decision dilemmas for classroom discussion.
  • Identify the expected learning outcomes of the case.

Participation Fee

Faculty and industry professionals:
Rs. 19,500 + applicable GST per person.

Research Scholars:
Rs. 14,500 + applicable GST per person.

Registration Includes

The registration fee includes all program materials, participant gifts, and the following meals.

July 24: morning tea, lunch, evening tea, and dinner.

July 25: morning tea, lunch, and evening tea.

September 26: morning tea, lunch, and evening tea.

Accommodation and Transportation

Participants are required to make their own arrangements for accommodation. A list of nearby hotels will be provided for convenience.

A fixed time bus service from the listed hotels to the Institute and back will be provided on all three days of the workshop. Participants are requested to share hotel details in advance by emailing gyanodaya@iimk.ac.in.

Prof. Atanu Adhikari

Dr. Atanu Adhikari

Professor of Marketing · Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode

Dr. Atanu Adhikari is a Professor of Marketing at IIM Kozhikode. He was a Commonwealth Academic Fellow to London Business School, UK, and a Fellow member of the Royal Statistical Society London, UK.

Professor Adhikari has written over 60 case studies that are available with Ivey Publishing, Harvard Business Publishing, Gyanodaya, and The Case Centre. These cases are being taught in more than 300 universities and business schools worldwide.

His case studies have received international awards from Ivey Business School Canada, EFMD Belgium, and Oikos International Switzerland.

Professor Adhikari has also co-authored and edited books on Emerging Market Cases, Business Research Methods, Marketing Strategy, and Marketing Analytics published by prestigious international publishers including Springer Nature, McGraw Hill, Cengage, and John Wiley.

He has published research work in several national and international peer-reviewed academic journals and has received awards from organizations including the Academy of Marketing Science USA and the Marketing Management Association USA.

Dr. Adhikari has designed and developed several executive programs and has trained more than 20,000 middle and senior management executives working in Fortune 500 companies, large Indian corporates, and public sector organizations.
